SYDNEY FC V ADELAIDE UNITED Saturday night, Allianz Stadium

Sydney won't get a better chance to reverse a worrying trend against Adelaide than this Saturday night at Allianz Stadium.

The Sky Blues have been the hottest team of the opening two months, winning all but one of their seven games and still remaining the only team unbeaten.

Adelaide on the other hand have endured a horrid start to their title defence with just two draws resulting from their opening seven games of the comp.

Sydney FC haven't won against Adelaide in four games but this Saturday night they'll have the chance to change all that.

PERFECT NO MORE
Sydney's perfect start to the season was bought undone by Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium last week with the teams sharing the points. That definitely isn't a bad result though as Brisbane has been the competition's best 'home' side since the start of last season.

A large part of their early season success has been thanks to their strong performances at home, where they have won all three games so far and scored 10 goals in the process. Last season they only won four times in 13 matches.

DOWN AND OUT?
When will Adelaide turn the corner?

The honest truth is that they are too good a side to be anchoring the league, however, their deficiencies have been highlighted for several weeks now.

A leaky defence and a not-so-brilliant attack has seen them rack up a poor plus/minus differential (-6).

Making things worse for them is that they have only have one point in three road trips so far, which doesn't spell good signs for them.

HOW IT PANS OUT
It can be said that Sydney FC has had their fair share of luck early on in the season in boasting such a formidable record of six wins and a draw from seven games. That said they were unlucky not to have put last week's game against the Roar to bed at halftime as they were repelled by goalie Michael Theo and only went in at half-time 1-0. Normally their attack would've put the game beyond reach at that point as they have averaged 2.57 goals per game.

They are yet to squander chances like that in consecutive games so we believe that Sydney will come out all guns blazing against the Reds.

Whether the defending champs can handle them is a different question and going into this off the back of five losses in six games, the answer could be very obvious.
