Womens Australian Open Winner

Our tips for the women’s singles has worked out brilliantly for our selection Victoria Azarenka, she’s now priced at $5, which is still series value. Her biggest difficulty in the draw looks like it will Garbine Muguruza who she will meet in the 4th round. The Spaniard herself is worth an each way bet, assuming she’s got past the blisters sustained in Brisbane, still $15 looks a good price.

Serena Williams didn’t look in too much trouble against Camila Girogi, she once again breezed through the first round of a Grand Slam. The price you can get on Serena to win the competition again still surprises me, with her knee apparently feeling fine she’s worth backing again at $3.5.

2nd Quarter Winner

Looking at the quarter round betting, the second quarter has caught my attention. Eugenie Bouchard has rediscovered her form and looks like she could go deep into this competition. She’s had a couple of shocking months which was summarised by her slip in the dressing room when she was going well in the US Open. Radwanska still hasn’t convinced me she’s got what is need to compete against the best, and there are still question marks over Petra Kvitova’s fitness, I’m lapping up the $7 for Bouchard to win the quarter.

Alize Cornet v Bojana Jovanovski

Alize Cornet faces an extremely out-of-form Bojana Jovanovski in the first round. This match looks like it could be completely one sided, the $13 on offer for Cornet to win the first set 6-0 looks very tempting. When punting on this it’s probably worth to play the 6-1 cover as well.

Angelique Kerber v Misaki Doi

Another person who could complete a 6-0 first set win is Angelique Kerber, who faces Misaki Doi. Their previous meeting was last year in Toronto, where Kerber dropped just one game. You can back 6-0 at $10 and 6-1 at $5.
