Greater Western Sydney v Western Bulldogs
Everyone’s a bit confused how we’ve ended up with these two teams fighting for a place in the Grand Final. Even though I wouldn’t put either of the sides among the top four in the comp, they deserve their place. Both GWS and the Bulldogs are unbeaten during finals, and both love to play fast exciting football which should set us up for a cracker at the Spotless Stadium.
The Giants may have the advantage of having a longer rest period, but the Bulldogs carry serious momentum into the game. They travelled to Perth to take apart West Coast and then won easily against the Hawks last time out. I’m shocked to see the Bulldogs at $3.3 for this Premlinary Final! Surely you can’t turn down that value!
Jack Macrae and Marcus Bontempelli envisage exactly what Luke Beveridge is trying to do at the Bulldogs. They play a high possession game and rely on quality handballing skills to break down opposition. Even though Bontempelli will probably be up against Stephen Coniglio, the style of footy the Bulldogs play he’s well worth backing to have 30+ disposals at.
The Giants need to limited Cameron and Heath Shaw, but also get plenty of the ball to the likes of Tom Boyd. Boyd has had a pretty disappointing end to the season in terms of goals, however all will be forgotten if he powers his team into the final. Get on the Bulldogs forward to kick three or more this weekend at $10. If a game against your old club for a finals position doesn’t get the blood boiling nothing will….
