Tom Gilmore has a two-point nap selection in Race 1 at Cessnock on Monday afternoon.
Tatura R2 No.5 - POET'S CHOICE
He's been racing well this fella and I thought his effort at Yarra Valley two weeks ago over 1200m was excellent. He led but just didnt quite run out a strong six furlongs, dropping back to 1000m here is a major positive and he should be at his peak from a race fitness point of view, very weak field who he should take care of.
Poet's Choice - 1pt @ 3.2
Tatura R6 No.1 - ASHDAM
He's rock-hard fit and racing in good style this fella, been performing to a good level in better grade of late hence the big weight he has to carry, gets in with 61.5kgs after the claim from Dunn (relative weights thats ok). His effort over 1200m 2 1/2 weeks back at Pakenham was very good, winner of that race has since come out and run well in a G3 Manfred Stakes and was probably unlucky not to win. From a box seat draw today that form is good enough to have these covered.
Ashdam - 1pt @ 3.5
Cessnock R1 No.4 - MACHINEGUN JUBS
Promising filly this, her win on debut at Musswellbrook in August late year was nothing short of impressive and that race rated well (has produced winners). Trialled up recently at Gosford behind a seasoned city class galloper and looked good doing so, she'll measure up to better races in town this prep but will be winning fresh today.
Machinegun Jubs - 2pts @ 1.85
