Sale R4 No.6 - DREADED
Was very good when returning at Sandown over 1300m, stuck his task well and was only beaten 2.5 lengths by Quilate (smart horse!). Runner up from that race since went on to beat this fella second-up at Sandown over 1400m, but he again stuck his task well. Suggest the 1700m will really suit (sire is a Melbourne Cup winner!) and he maps for the right run in transit. No superstars here and he looks the horse on the up.

Sale R5 No.3 - BUT IT'S TRUE
Was a very impressive winner on debut at Warrnambool (6 length canter!) before running brilliantly, and without a whole lot of luck, when four weeks between runs in $100,000 race at Mornington over 1500m. Got back on a day that suited those nearer the speed and still managed to run through the line like a very nice horse. Form out of the race is terrific with the runner-up a winner 10 days ago at Sandown. Extra 100m is right up his alley and speed looks good on paper, despite taking on the older horses he looks a very nice galloper in the making!
But Its True - 1pt @ 1.90
Wodonga R1 No.4 - BUFFALO SOLDIER
Sounds odd but I thought his trial at Wangaratta (11/3 900m) was very, very good. Bombed the start, rushed up in behind them, settled and then had to check off heels before letting down nicely under riding. Runner-up from that hit-out has since come out and won impressively (looked good!), and I fancy with a few gear adjustments since his debut back in November will do the trick for him this afternoon.
Buffalo Soldier - 1pt @ 3.30
Wangaratta R4 No.11 - LITTLE MISS CHARM
A very poor race but I think this filly has come up over the odds, her run was much better than it looked at Bendigo two weeks ago when she was 1600m to 2200m (first time at the trip). Massive leap and the fact she was competitive is a great sign, she tracked a genuine speed and was basically right in the race until the final 150m where fitness told. She'll take enormous benefit from that run and with the form coming out of the race strong (runner-up since a winner) she can break her duck today.
Little Miss Charm - 1pt @ 6.00
