Werribee R1 No.2 - BARRAAJ

Was 1100m to 1400m second-up at Sale three weeks ago and I thought his effort to lead throughout to only go down narrowly was good. He begun a touch slowly and as a result had to be urged to slide to the front. Basically led throughout but just tired late over the concluding stages, winner looks promising and 2nd horse came from the tail. Fancy he wont mind the cut out of the surface and he'll strip much fitter for the second crack at the 1400m.

Werribee R2 No.11 - MISS MORGANA

Thought she trialled very nicely 13/4 down at Mornington over 750m, wasn't asked to do anything spectacular, just rolled around under her own steam but did it well. Has clearly come back in good order and in a race of this quality she looks mighty hard to beat. Was runner-up to some really nice horses in her last campaign, most notably a 4 length second to now Group 2 winner Catch A Fire! Should just have a class edge on these.

Pakenham R2 No.6 - OLD TRIESTE

Thought he was very good returning at Kilmore the other day under the circumstances, was forced into the worst part of the track and really managed to find plenty. He'll take great benefit from that run and Caulfield horses generally love the pro-ride horses. Gets the Visor on for the first time which will no doubt sharpen him up and he does map to box seat. Second-up last prep went super behind G1-class colt Kinglike, thats enormous form!

Pakenham R4 No.4 - PALAIOS (each-way)

He was absolutely hurtling home over the 1000m here a month ago and arguably should have won, copped a huge check from the eventual winner when he was looking to improve rounding the bend - as a result he lost significant momentum and was forced to chat a course right to the outside. Still savaged the line and gave the impression that 1400m will no doubt suit. Expect him to get back off a decent tempo again and be very strong late!

Pakenham R7 No.2 - IRON SPIDER

Clearly the horse to beat going off his two most recent outings, one of which he chased hard in a $250,000 race and wasn't far off genuine Group-performed horses, and his latest a huge effort when only being bloused by a bolter. Drops back to BM64 grade her and draws to sit a touch closer, with even luck he'll be too good. His form at a mile behind the likes of Spreadeagled should measure up against this lot.
