Cranbourne R2 No.8 - PAYDAY PRINCESS
She looks a nice filly debuting here against a pretty ordinary bunch, impressed with the way she's been jumping out at Caulfield in preparation for this. She appears to have good early speed and this looks a race lacking speed on paper and pattern certainly should favour those handy to the speed early, blinkers for her first assignment which should keep her mind on the job - may pinch a break on key rivals and take catching!

Cranbourne R3 No.12 - COLONEL KLINK
Totally forgiving of this smart 2yo when second-up/1400m at Flemington, paraded poorly/raced greenly and just basically pulled his head off and as a result tailed out. Reckon he'll appreciate the blinkers coming off and getting to a mile, should settle much better and certainly be doing his best work late. Heavy track no issue either and do like these late season 2yos taking on average older horses.

Cranbourne R5 No.6 - AYDA
Was four weeks between runs back to 1300m at Sandown at latest outing and closed well (behind a good one!), she was posted throughout but continued to make ground and hit the line nicely. Takes good benefit on the quick back-up and expect she'll be more forward today from the wide marble. Gets in well relative weights and like the drop back to six furlongs, should take beating.
Ayda - 1pt @ 2.75
Cranbourne R8 No.3 - ONCIDIUM RULER (x2 NAP)
Was second-up/2000m at Sandown 8 days ago and went super, just found a race-fit horse a bit much late (fitness told) so I anticipate he'll have taken great benefit from that and great recipe second crack at the trip. This is a much softer affair than that recent hit-out and he again maps for the PR of the race. Gets through heavy tracks with ease (home deck) so ticks all boxes.
Oncidium Ruler - 2pts @ 3.20
Grafton R1 No.1 - EMVEPEE
Has been thereabouts with some city-class horses in the past and it was surprising he took so long to break his duck, got back three weeks ago over the 1400m and ran through the line exceptionally to win well (against pattern!) at the Gold Coast and reckon that might have been the confidence booster he needed. This is a very ordinary field (basically maiden grade) and he draws well/gets G.Schofield on board.
