R1 11.45am HYLAND RACE COLOURS HANDICAP 1500m
HIGH MIST was finding the line well last start at Rosehill over 1400m, despite a less than ideal time of things in the straight. He is bred to appreciate soft ground and the stable have him tagged as a Spring Champion horse later this spring.
HARPER'S CHOICE has hit the line well in each of his starts like a colt who will appreciate more ground. A rise to 1500m is a step in the right direction.
FANFARON comes out of the same 1400m race at this course as Harper's Choice, where he finished a half-length off the Gerald Ryan trained runner. He now gets a half kilo weight swing here in his favour. Suspect the Morton's Fork race is the strongest form line brought into this contest.
GOLDEN ORGANIC adds a different form reference to the contest. Up sharply in trip from 1200m to 1500m, he profiles as an improver.

ESTEBAN is chasing a fourth straight successive win, after spacing his rivals over this distance a fortnight ago. The gelding is flying and there is little to suggest he can't go on with the job here. He is definitely the one to beat.
ZAYAM profiles as the apparent danger after showing good improvement second up over a mile at Randwick three weeks ago. He will be fitter again, is proven at the course and is also a dual winner at the distance. The race falls away sharply in terms of chances after the above mentioned pair.
MAGICAL STANCE and SPRINGBOK FLYER appear the ones most likely to battle it out for the minor placings and have reasonable form lines heading into the race.
LIE DIRECT did some work to sit on speed three weeks back at Randwick and he showed tremendous fight, but had to settle for a close up second to Major Major. He will have to work again but he has to be a live chance after the courage he showed in that performance.

R3 12:55pm TAB HIGHWAY PLATE 1500m
CHOSEN PRAYER appears well suited under Set Weights conditions for this race over 2000m. The mare drops back from genuine weekend metropolitan level, where she admittedly struggled. Her prior form was solid though and she should relish taking on this country restricted company.
TIPTA TANTIVY has turned a corner in her past couple of outings and last start held her own in a 1400m Highway Handicap at Randwick. She is one of the more promising types in this field and is worth thought.
Top-weight EXPLOSIVE SCENE is another in the field well suited under Set Weights conditions. The 3kg claim of apprentice Andrew Adkins swings things even more in his favour and he could certainly play a part in this race.
THUNDER ROAD was completely unwanted in betting when resuming in the Randwick Highway mentioned above. He looked no hope at the top of the straight but he produced a brilliant finishing burst to get the job done and nothing suggests that he can’t do it again.
SELECTIONS: No9 CHOSEN PRAYER

R4 1.30pm CASINO PRINCE @ VINERY HANDICAP 1500m
LYCIA was an impressive winner two starts back and was solid again when placing over 1400m at Randwick three weeks ago. The daughter of Medaglia D'Oro should appreciate a rise to 1500m and is expected to be peaking fourth up.
EXTENSIBLE was finding the line well first up when second at this course over 1350m. She will strip fitter for the run and while untried over this distance, was finding the line first up like a mare who would appreciate it.
FLAMBOYANT LASS has held her form well this campaign and wasn't far beaten when attempting to make all over 1400m at Randwick. A rise to 1500m is something of a query but her consistency is hard to fault.
HARLEM LADY has placed in her past four starts. She is again expected to be working home late.
FRILL SEEKING comes through that Elle Lou race where she sat on speed and fought on well to run fourth. Loses nothing with Heywood steering, she’s hard fit and she will be out of trouble on speed.
SELECTIONS: No8 LYCIA
, No7 Extensible, No3 Flamboyant Lass, No6 Harlem Lady
Lycia - 1pt @ 6.00
R5 2.05pm TAB REWARDS HANDICAP 1200m
LABDIEN resumes after a campaign where she was Group placed in the Alexandra Stakes at Moonee Valley last spring. The filly; while likely better over a bit more ground deeper into her campaign, has won first up in the past and is drawn to receive all of the favours in transit.
TREMOR was luckless last start when seventh over 1200m at Warwick Farm. Her first up outing was a convincing success over 1250m at Canterbury. From an inside barrier with a 3kg claim, the filly only needs clear running in the straight to make her presence felt.
ATOM EVE shapes as a good each way player after placing over 1250m at Canterbury last start. Freshened since then she drops back marginally in trip and is well performed on both firm and soft tracks to date.
VIADUCTRESS showed plenty of promise through her last campaign where she chalked up a pair of metropolitan wins. No public trials in readiness. However, keep her in mind first up.
MODHA ran at Canterbury a couple of weeks back and was okay without setting the world on fire behind Dee Nine Elle. Bigger track helps and senior rider engaged.
A pair of last start maiden winners in MERI RANI and CRY FOR PEACE each hold value claims.

WE'RE SURE opened up at each way odds earlier in the week and they may be worth pursuing. The gelding was given a soft kill first-up at Newcastle and then measured up well in the A.R Creswick Series Final down the straight at Flemington last start. The Not A Single Doubt three-year-old has only ever won first-up through three campaigns. He warrants respect in this field though dropping back from Listed company.
PIONEERING beat Dee Nine Elle last start. Only meeting Dee Nine Elle half a kilo worse at the weights, she can offer up a repeat serve and chalk up a third straight win.
DEE NINE ELLE looks the leader and the filly is expected to take plenty of catching. The Tony Gollan-trained filly has impressed since returning to Sydney, bolting in at Canterbury two back before only being narrowly beaten at the same course and distance seven days ago. Her record over seven furlongs is good and is drawn to find the front with minimal fuss. With no speed outside of her engaged in the race, the daughter of Duporth will be hard to gun down if afforded cheap mid sectionals.
HIGH DREAMER ran over the Wyong mile a couple of weeks back and was quite dominant in winning. Back to 1400m is a slight worry, but stable is flying at the moment.
SO WILLIE and ART NOUVEAU will each be finding the line well late at the business end of proceedings.
SELECTIONS: No3 WE’RE SURE
, No1 Pioneering, No10 Dee Nine Elle, No2 So Willie
No6 High Dreamer

R7 3.25pm WINTER CHALLENGE 1500m
OXFORD POET is the anticipated leader and the gelding could take some catching. The son of Dylan Thomas made all at this course a fortnight ago in the Winter Stakes, accounting for a number of the same rivals he faces again here. In a race lacking much in terms of early speed up-front, the son of Dylan Thomas can potentially dictate at a rather leisurely tempo. If afforded those cheap mid sectionals, he could take some catching despite being a query out to 1500m.
MARENOSTRO showed a return to form behind Oxford Poet last start in the Winter Stakes. He now meets the winner 1.5kg better at the weights, has an excellent record on rain affected ground, is well performed at the course and proven at the distance. The Winter Stakes is clearly the dominant form line in the contest.
ZIN ZAN EDDIE ran second in the event. He will strip fitter for the outing and has won third up in the past. Being winless at the course from ten starts is something of a concern though.
RULING DYNASTY is a very interesting runner. Resumes for James Cummings and is heading towards the Spring so whatever he does here he will improve on, but the trials have been encouraging.
Watch betting for the resuming Godolphin duo of ALEGRIA and ALLERGIC. Fitness must be a query first up at this trip for the pair who will likely get up over ground. They are each stakes performed types though and class alone can see them a long way.

MCCREERY returned from a setback with a bold second over 1550m at Canterbury seven days ago. A distance drop, on a seven day back up, is something of a surprise. Bowman staying aboard with the application of Blinkers are two factors which each bode well for his chances.
DRAGON FLYER placed on resuming over 1200m at this course a fortnight ago. While something of a non-winner, he will be fitter second up and must be kept in mind on what he produced fresh.
SHADOW LORD was outclassed last start when a well held seventh in the Winter Stakes. A drop back in grade here suits and his prior form was solid.
AVONACO is another Waller runner here on a quick turnaround. He didn't look comfortable on the heavy ground, however gets firmer footing here.

R9 4.45pm NSW RACEHORSE OWNERS HANDICAP 1100m
THIS IS AUSTRALIA has finished second in each of his two starts this campaign, the latest when not far off making all over 1200m at Wyong. A drop back to 1100m may perhaps suit for now.
YASNAT has won each of her three starts this campaign. The stable is placing her well and while also down to run over 1200m at Caulfield, it’s suspected she will line up here.
It's been a while since CHEEKY BABE commenced her latest campaign when placing over 1100m at Canterbury last month. Connections look to have attempted to dodge the heavy tracks which have been common through Sydney this winter. She has been kept ticking over with a Randwick trial and should appreciate the anticipated early speed on up front.
I CAN ROCK comes here off the back of a fast finishing fourth in the Sir James Kirby during the Grafton Carnival. Form prior in town was solid and this doesn’t appear to be a strong race.
