Warracknabeal R1 No.2 - HOT HANSEL

Liked this fellas jump-out at Mornington (20/7 over 700m) in preparation for this, settled well midfield but did extend nicely under urgings to pick up well and shoot past them. He got through the ground nicely which was a major positive and appears to be fairly wound up for this. Forgiving of Synthetic failure back in early June (didn't handle surface/leading), assessing of run prior on soft going at Geelong over 1100m, he was good, that race rated well. He got within 3 lengths of the city-class Bon Dancer and he crossed the line with horses who've been winners since!

Warracknabeal R2 No.10 - SHE'S ON TARGET

Former Sydney-based mare on debut for the D.Weir stable, suggest she's just better than this lot. Is a month between runs but that latest effort at Newcastle (1150m) was very good, she laid in when asked to extend in the straight/may have run within herself on the firmer deck and was left a sitting duck for a swooper (who's since been runner-up in slick race in town). That form is certainly strong enough to see her got the job done here, and she's better with the sting out.
She's on Target - 1pt @ 2.10

Warracknabeal R7 No.2 - HEZA CHAKA

Former Peter Moody-trained galloper on debut for Matthew Williams, been tricky to catch in his career to date but think he should be winning a very poor BM58. He was a moral beaten fresh back in December last year at Stawell (1300m), before being a touch vanilla second-up. He then went to Sandown when well supported in the market but tailed out of the race upon straightening. Turns out he choked down, interesting to see the tongue-tie goes on today. He may have had undiagnosed breathing issues previously (on more than one occasion), so prepared to say he can be winning here fresh. Soft tracks no issue and rates better than these.
Heza Chaka - 1pt @ 3.40

Goulburn R1 No.6 - AUTUMN

Former Kiwi mare now with M.Dale at Canberra, thought her debut for the stable was actually quite good here two weeks ago, the 1300m was clearly too short and she looked like a horse that needed a gallop, but with that in mind she went well (had interference in transit). Think she'll no doubt strip fitter/take huge benefit from the outing and if she can look to improve at the 600m she may just be a bit strong for them late.
Autumn - 1pt @ 3.60

Goulburn R6 No.4 - VINNIE POWER

Was 1100m to 1300m for the first-time here two weeks ago and went nicely, settled three pairs back in the run and was forced to stride four-deep prior to straightening when looking to make ground. Was strong to the line under the circumstances and keen she takes good benefit (second crack at the trip!) physically. Like she's drawn out and there looks to be solid speed on paper, can find a lane down the centre of the track and come home over the top of them late.
Vinnie Power - 1pt @ 4.80
