Best Bet: Geelong R1 No.11 - WANTED TO SING

Went nicely when a month between runs/back to 1000m at Mornington three weeks ago, got back off a fairly average tempo but managed to find plenty and hit the line with a head of steam. Step to the 1100m certainly suits and she does map to take closer order with big positive jockey change (C.Williams on board), expect her to box seat (PR of the race) and be a bit too good. Forgiving of poly track failure recently, bar that she rates to win this.

Next Best: Geelong R3 No.12 - TWO SQUARE

Ran really well v. the pattern at Cranbourne four weeks ago when second up to the mile, went through the line like a horse who'd need every bit of 2000m (gets that today). Expect her to again strip fitter and could take closer order on the map from the friendly marble, form out of her latest outing (race rated well) is quite slick, if she runs to the mark or even improves 1-2 lengths expect her to be very hard to beat. Gets through soft going with no issue.

Got well out of his ground third-up at Pakenham 11 days ago but still managed to run through the line like a coming winner (soft in betting). His run prior when making ground behind the really smart He's The Boss rates well enough to win a fairly average affair like this, should take closer order from the wide draw/progressing to 1700m and with an un-interrupted run he'll be far too good. City class horse masquerading with provincial gallopers at the moment.

Geelong R5 No.8 - BATTLECAMP

Went to the line untested fresh at Geelong three weeks ago over the 1100m, found plenty of traffic issues from the inside draw and was also beaten by a smart one! Like he draws out and the progression to 1200m clearly suits, he'll get all the favours from the alley (can sit deep throughout) and bar any issues in running he'll be too good for them.

Geeling R7 No.5 - DESERT GREY

Was lipped out by the Stakes-class He's The Boss fresh at Sale before winning in dominant fashion second-up, he gave them a real touch up (off the PR) and did it eased down by almost three lengths. Runner-up has since come out and won nicely (Derby hope!) and from the good draw he clearly should have no issue at the 1500m. Finds the box-seat in transit again and I see no reason as to why he won't make it two on the trot.

Best Roughie: Coleraine R7 No.8 - ROBBIE'S STAR

Two weeks between runs when a forgivable failure at Morphettville dropping back to a mile, never travelled at any point of the race and only ground to the line ok. Back onto a fairly heavy surface certainly suits him, he beat key rivals here at Warrnambool at start prior (rated good!) and his city-grade run prior was impressive when having little luck (hit the line v. pattern). Suggest from the wide draw they're fairly positive, if he can slot in and find a cart into the race he can win at a big price!
