Central Coast Mariners v Western Sydney Wanderers - Sunday 17:00, Fox Sports 4

After a win in their opening game of the season, Central Coast have failed to win any of their last six, losing four of these games to leave them down in eighth, the position they finished in last season. The Wanderers, meanwhile, are in excellent form having won their last four to move them up to third in the table.
It’s been a turbulent start to the season for the Mariners, with regular keeper Reddy currently sidelined due to a disagreement with the manager over tactics. Despite that, their home record remains strong as they’ve only lost once this season, against last season’s runners-up Sydney, and that is their only loss in their last six at home. Five of their last seven at home saw fewer than three strikes and they were also level at half-time in five of these games. Though the Wanderers finished ninth last season, they’re looking every bit a top-half side this season and the Mariners’ home record against top-half finishers last season was W1-D1-L5, failing to score in three of these defeats and with three also by more than one goal.

The Wanderers have won their last four, and their poor finish last season was not a fair reflection on the quality they possess, having won the 2014 AFC Champions League last November and then prioritising the defence of that trophy, which started in February. While they exited at the group stage this year they did beat Guangzhou Evergrande who went on to win the tournament last weekend and no other A-League side has even made the Last 16 in either year.

Five of Central Coast’s last seven home games had fewer than three goals, as have three of the Wanderers’ last five on the road whilst 10 of the last 11 meetings between these sides had fewer than three goals and their three clashes last season all saw fewer than two strikes, with two being 0-0 draws. With that in mind Under 2.5 goals looks the best play here whilst the Wanderers to win to nil also stands out at 3.75.
